Singers programme
The Singers Programme of CIOS 2026 is an intensive training experience for singers who seek to refine their technique, deepen their stylistic understanding of Italian opera, and gain real stage experience through the preparation and performance of a full role.
Focused on Le nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart, it brings together individual vocal work, musical coaching, role preparation, stage work, orchestral rehearsals and public performance within the framework of a complete operatic production. Designed for singers in the early stages of their career, the programme offers a meaningful step forward in artistic development, professional readiness and performance experience, while also providing access to scholarships, professional opportunities and potential future engagements with partner institutions and Córdoba Opera Lab projects.
PROGRAMME
Intensive 65-hours workshop
June 6–14, 2026
The programme is centered on the practical preparation to build and perform a role within an opera production, through the main elements of opera training:
Individual vocal technique
Musical coaching and role preparation
Stage movement and dramatic work
Orchestral rehearsals
Opera Gala
Semi-staged final performance
Each selected singer will receive:
1 individual vocal technique lesson
2 individual coaching sessions
Individual preparation of the assigned role with conductor and répétiteur
2 orchestra rehearsals with the Córdoba Opera Lab Orchestra
Participation in the Opera Gala
Participation in one complete performance of Le nozze di Figaro in semi-staged version with orchestra
Practical Work
The entire period of classes and rehearsals will take place at the facilities of the Real Círculo de la Amistad de Córdoba, following an intensive daily schedule from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Additional Key Opportunities
Opera Gala
Each selected singer will take part in the Opera Gala, performing one aria and, possibly, also ensemble or concertante number.
Semi-Staged Performance
Each participant will prepare and debut a complete role in the semi-staged production of Le nozze di Figaro with a professional orchestra.
Professional Recording
Participants will receive professional video and photo material from the programme for artistic promotion and future professional use.
Career Development
The programme includes a collective professional guidance and career development session focused on the artistic path and professional preparation of young lyric singers.
Professional Opportunities
Selected singers may be considered for future professional engagements with partner institutions and upcoming Córdoba Opera Lab projects.
Application process
Who Can Apply
The programme is open to singers of all ages, and is especially intended for Bachelor’s and Master’s level artists who are beginning their professional careers.
Number of Participants
A maximum of 15 singers may be admitted. The programme is primarily conceived for one cast, although a second cast may be formed for principal roles. In all cases, each selected participant will be guaranteed the opportunity to perform and debut their requested role.
Course Fee
The total fee for the Singers Programme is 1.000€.
